Maryann, a short film by José Luis Orbegozo, is a nineteenth-century period piece featuring an original score by Michael Picton. In keeping with the director's approach, guided by the art and aesthetics of the period, the music is written in a style inspired by composers of the nineteenth century: Schubert, Brahms, and Faure. Scored for piano and string quartet, the music was recorded in Montreal at Radio-Canada's Studio 12, one of Canada's finest studios for classical music.
